Take it easy until your rinse
Keep cool and dry while your tan develops. Leave exercise, swimming and sweating for later, and avoid rain or water splashes. Wear loose clothing and hold off on moisturiser, deodorant and perfume.
Notice a splash or mark? Get in touch before scrubbing or adding more tanning product. We’ll help you work out what to do next.
Your first rinse
Follow the rinse time we give you at your appointment. It depends on the solution and colour you’ve chosen, even if you’ve followed a different routine before.
Take a short rinse in plain lukewarm water. Unless we’ve advised otherwise, skip soap, body wash, shampoo, shaving and exfoliation for this rinse. Use your hands gently, then pat dry with a soft towel.
A little colour in the water is normal. That’s the cosmetic bronzer rinsing away. Your tan may look lighter at first and can keep developing afterwards.
A little daily care
Wait 24 hours after application before using body wash, deodorant, perfume or moisturiser, unless we’ve given you different instructions for your solution. If you’re unsure, just ask.
Once your tan has fully developed, use a gentle body wash and moisturise daily. Keep showers warm and pat your skin dry. Limit long baths, pools, spas and saunas, and save exfoliation for when you’re ready to fade your colour.
Every tan wears a little differently. Your skin, preparation and routine all play a part.
Ready for your next tan?
From around days 5–7, or when you’re ready to remove your tan, gently exfoliate and keep moisturising. Skip harsh scrubbing. Our preparation checklist will help you get ready for your next visit.
Your tan doesn’t provide sun protection. Keep up your usual sun care: sunscreen, protective clothing, a hat, sunglasses and shade.
